50+ Years of Commercial Façade Success

Redefining the possibilities of the modern skyline

Bringing architectural designs to reality

As buildings get taller and architectural designs get more sophisticated, architects need products and design systems they can rely on.
For more than five decades, Dow has been a pioneer working alongside architects as they implemented their most ambitious designs, utilizing sealant and bonding solutions for weatherproofing and silicone structural glazing to keep their buildings stronger for longer.

Imagine the possibilities

DOWSIL™ 121 Silicone Structural Glazing Sealant

An easy-to-use and fast-curing sealant, for use in structural and weather-sealing applications, which can be applied on-site or in-shop. This sealant simplifies facade installation and reduces repair time.

DEFENDAIR™ 200C Air and Weather Barrier Coating

A 100% silicone liquid applied Air and Weather Barrier designed to protect against air infiltration and water penetration. The vapor permeable, one component, water-based coating cures to form a flexible membrane that is impervious to water but has the ability to “breathe,” allowing water vapor to escape from inside the substrate.

As with any construction in the Middle East, Dow’s technical experts were confronted with testing and specifying products that are able to withstand the rigors of high temperature, ultra-violet light, seismic activity and inclement weather conditions including sandstorms and high winds. In addition, large areas of the curtain wall, which in total is equivalent in size to 17 soccer fields, are positioned at extreme height, which in turn, brings a new set of technical challenges.
