Hygiene Release

Whether your hygiene applications use MG kraft, porous or open papers, we have emulsion-based solutions & solventless-based solutions for release coatings that are specifically tailored to meet your needs. SYL-OFF™ Silicone Release Coatings from Dow enable sufficient release performance from typical hot melt pressure sensitive adhesives. Due to the typically porous/open nature of the substrates used in hygiene release applications, we recommend that special care be taken to achieve good silicone coverage of the substrate surface.

Platinum-based emulsion coatings, in combination with thickeners and other organic additives, offer a good solution to this problem. In addition to release coatings, we also offer release modifiers and recommendations to address a number of processing challenges associated with hygiene product production (including antifoams, wetting additives and thickeners).
