ENDURANCE™ Compounds for Cable Systems

ENDURANCE™ compounds offer cable makers and utilities exceptional mechanical strength, electrical properties, and aging stability. And by working side-by-side with customers, we’re able to align our technology and experience with individual application needs.

Dow ENDURANCE™ HFDD-4201 is a breakthrough cross linked polyethylene (XLPE) cable insulation material for HV/EHV applications. Its close-to-zero degassing properties reduce cable delivery time, inventory cost, and energy consumption - and removes limitations in the degassing chamber, especially during busy periods. This material allows longer run length and increased capacity of CV lines, reduces start-up and stop losses, and reduces the number of joints - perfect for submarine applications.

Dow's XLPE ENDURANCE™ HFDB-4401 UDC and HFDB-0840 UDC for extruded high-voltage, direct current (HVDC) insulation increases operating temperature limits to 90°C. This enables businesses to maximize power, minimize risk, reduce environmental impact and bring down the cost of a high voltage direct current cable system.

Dow's ENDURANCE™ HFDC-4202 EC (Gen-3) provides excellent performance that ages well in wet environments - giving cable-makers and end users the freedom to choose how to design their power solutions. When used with Dow's shielding and semiconductor materials, ENDURANCE™ meets the stringent CIGRE TB 722 standard - making it perfect for offshore and wind power generation applications.
