An all-acrylic, thermoplastic, water-resistant binder with excellent resistance to water blushing (water whitening). It exhibits a great balance of early block resistance and low coalescent demand. It was specially developed for use in coatings for cementitious and other non-resilient surfaces. The product can be formulated in clear as well as pigmented coatings. As with all aqueous binders, this product can be formulated to meet a variety of requirements for many different substances and application conditions.
A unique, modified acrylic, low odor, polymer that utilizes mixed-metal crosslinking technology to produce polishes that combine excellent gloss and gloss retention with the new industry standard for durability. Because of its outstanding durability, formulations based on this product are ideally suited for use in highly trafficked areas that are minimally maintained. These areas include airports and shopping malls.
Floor Finish Polymer is a low foaming, metal-crosslinked, modified acrylic polymer that provides the basis for the most economical polish formulations. Polishes based on this polymer are especially well suited for use in a variety of maintenance environments, such as retail, school, and medical facilities.
A fast-evaporating glycol ether with an excellent balance of hydrophilic and hydrophobic character; excellent active solvency and coupling properties. It is a versatile solvent product with balance properties.
Fast evaporating solvent with high water solubility and active solvency used in a variety of applications such as solvent-based coatings, household and industrial cleaners, and agricultural pesticides.
Mid-to slow evaporating solvent. Has 100% water solubility and is ideally suited as a coupling agent in a wide range of solvent systems. Has a higher flash point than DOWANOL™ PM glycol ether making it easier to handle, store, and ship. Often incorporated into latex emulsion coatings; can be used to prevent shocking (coagulation of emulsion) when hydrophobic solvents are used. More broadly, its hydrophilic nature makes it an ideal coupling aid in water reducible coatings, and cleaning applications. Used with cleaners because they offer an extensive combination of basic physical and performance properties for cleaning formulations. The intermediate evaporation rate allow it to be used in a potentially wider range of systems than many other solvents.
A slow-evaporating, hydrophilic glycol ether with excellent coalescing and coupling power that offers strong solvency and chemical stability for a broad array of household products. Butyl CARBITOL™ glycol ether solvent has a vapor pressure that qualifies it as an exempt VOC (volatile organic compound) under the California Air Resources Board and U.S. EPA criteria for both consumer and commercial cleaning product applications. Other functional characteristics include, readily biodegradable and US EPA Inerts listed for non food use.
Slow-evaporating glycol ether with excellent surface tension-lowering ability and coalescing properties for coating applications and cleaning products. The product is readily biodegradable per results from OECD 301A, E and 302B testing methods.
A basic chemical used in many applications serving as an emulsifier, stabilizer, chemical intermediate, and a neutralizer that achieves basicity, buffering, and alkalinity objectives. It is a liquid product at room temperature, providing neutralization of acidic component and pH contribution to the formulations. Monoisopropanolamine-based formulations can offer better color and heat stability and improved oil solubility than conventional ethanolamines. It is a specialty alkanolamine that acts as a neutralizers for water-based coatings
Nonionic surfactant for use in paints and coatings, paper and textile processing, cleaners and detergents, agrochemicals, and metalworking fluids; with excellent detergency, outstanding wetting, versatile solubility characteristics, and exceptional handling properties. It can also be used in oilfield drilling and production formulations.
