SILASTIC™ Moldable Optical Silicones
The plan to rebrand moldable optical silicones
High-quality moldable optical silicone elastomers from Dow are undergoing a brand name change in 2019. Only the brand name has changed — from DOWSIL™ to SILASTIC™. There are no changes to the quality, chemistry, pricing, SKUs, material numbers or the ordering process.

Our moldable optical silicones will be aligned with the SILASTIC™ Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) product family. As a result of this alignment, the current DOWSIL™ Moldable Optical Silicones will share the SILASTIC™ name. This change will build on 70+ years of SILASTIC™ brand equity, silicone elastomer compounding experience, and a global network of technical expertise.
Existing inventory will not be re-labeled with the product brand changes. Labels, safety data sheets and other documentation will be updated with the product brand changes over time as current inventories are exhausted. Renaming notices will be available to help with any mismatched documentation and labels.
