A Sustainable Future with Polyurethanes
At Dow, we’re accelerating our sustainability journey towards a low carbon and circular future.
Securing a better future for all
Our ‘Decarbonize and Grow’ strategy includes a phased approach to decarbonize our assets to meet the growing demands for sustainable products and solutions through continued investments in new products, technologies and processes.
Transitioning to low carbon is an opportunity for Dow’s Polyurethanes business. That’s why we’re optimizing our technologies to enable benefits such as increasing circularity, bio-based and renewable content, energy efficiency, resource reduction and reduced emissions.
Low carbon and circular journey
Dow Polyurethanes is strengthening its low carbon and circularity journey by way of its assets and product portfolio.
Innovating safe and sustainable solutions
Advancing carbon neutrality with Dow
Responsible sourcing of low-carbon feedstock helps make net-carbon reduction possible.
Our reduced carbon offerings demonstrate or enable a lower carbon footprint. This net carbon reduction is based on the responsible sourcing of low-carbon feedstocks as well as Dow`s actions to reduce carbon emissions in the manufacturing process- both of which result in lower embedded carbon in our customer`s products.
V PLUS Perform™
Bio-circular and recycled feedstocks (biogenic and non-biogenic waste) are converted into the raw materials used in V PLUS Perform™ next, eliminating the need for incineration or landfilling.
RENUVA™
Products (polyols) powered by RENUVA™ offer potential for a 54% equivalent CO2 reduction compared to standard polyol production.

Recovered. Recycled. Renewed. With Dow
Through advanced or chemical recycling, hard-to-recycle post-consumer and post-industrial waste is transformed into sustainable feedstocks. End-of-life PU products are broken down into its base components which can be used to manufacture new products.
All of this helps to keep end-of-life material out of the waste stream and reduce the need for non-renewable feedstocks.
RENUVA™
Products (polyols) powered by RENUVA™ with recycled content obtained from end-of-life PU waste.
